Jamie Pugh is so Scared
Posted in Jamie Pugh on 05/04/2009 03:48 pm by joetruI fear success but I don’t fear failure
These are the words of Jamie Pugh after last Saturday’s show where he surprised both judges and public by his performance of Bring Him Home.
The singer who is currently shuffling two jobs, one as a pizza delivery men and father of a three year old kid is so unaware of his talent that he goes on to say:
“What you have to realise is that I personally don’t feel I can sing.”
For Jamie Pugh who unlike other contestants is completely unexperienced of singing in public, the next stage of the competition is a big pressure on his shoulders, he went to the contest unconvinced, and totally unexpectant of what would later happen, a standing ovation from the public and praise from the three judges. He is terrified of dissapointing them:
“Now if there’s an expectation I can sing, it makes things even worse.
“If I think about my next performance I will get a head full of broken toys.”
Perhaps Jamie should believe in himself more, just as Simon said and stop saying coments like:
“I’ve failed at a lot of things and I fear success because I’m Jamie. I’ve got to appear on a TV show and I’m dreading it.
“I’m a wreck – I’m not a star.”
Which he recently mentioned in an interview. Stage fear is very understandable when you have never been in front of a public, but the only way to overcome that fear is by confronting home
We all are sure that Jamie can make it through the next stage, he won’t fail, he’ll surprise us all again as he did last saturday.
Go to Youtube and watch his performance, Jamie blew everybody away by his rendition of Bring Him Home, so he shouldn’t worry he’ll be alright in the next stage.
