Jamie Pugh’s music Dream is Over…For now

She announced in the press that she was very disappointed by Jamie Pugh and she didn’t give Jamie any chance during last night’s performance. Amanda Holden pressed the buzzer midway through Jamie Pugh’s performance of The Impossible Dream from The Man of La Mancha.

It’s true that Jamie was struggling to find the self confidence to perform Live on national TV, specially since after Susan Boyle the attention on him was the greatest in the contest, and just as Susan Boyle struggled to start up with her song.

But the second part of the song was great, even Simon acknowledged that the ending was great, but Jamie’s stage fright was holding him back and he may never be able to overcome it:

“I didn’t think it was good enough. You may have to come to terms with the fact that your nerves are always going to hold you back.

“You may have to come to terms with the fact that this is not for you.”

One thing was true, he was very nervous and it showed, it showed a tad too much which makes people uncomfortable, nobody likes seeing someone suffering on stage.

Perhaps there was some part of true in what Amanda Holden said:

“You have got a good voice but I didn’t feel comfortable watching you.

“You are there to entertain me and I was very uncomfortable and nervous for you.

“As a member of the audience and judge I have to be able to relax and enjoy it but I couldn’t.”

Jamie is very talented and he made a mistake not saying that he had performed in front of a large audience before, something that seemed so futile, cost him his place in the finals and the public as the judges can be very little understanding when they feel betrayed in any way.

Jamie Pugh said he was going to continue working on his singing abilities, on his stage fright.

Piers Morgan was a bit more gentle and he told Jamie Pugh who looked appalled at the judges slamming of his performance:

“You’ve got a whole lot of guts to get up there and do that.”

Jamie promised judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan that he was not going to give in and he was going to continue fighting for his dream until it comes true.
