Jamie Pugh The Impossible Dream Semi Final Performance

We are all sad to see Jamie Pugh go from Britain’s Got Talent semi finals, Jamie performed a rendition of The Impossible Dream from The Man of La Mancha and he did a fairly good one in spite of his fears and stage fright.

It’s true that Jamie’s Performance was flawed, but so was Susan Boyle’s, in contests like this it never seems fair when a talented contestant has to leave, but this shouldn’t stop Jamie from pursuing his dream of becoming a professional singer, he demonstrated that he can move people with his voice and by working harder on his stage fright he may be able to reach his dream.

Here is the video of Jamie Pugh’s rendition of The Impossible Dream on last night’s semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent with the comments from the judges after his performance

In this case the judges gave a lukewarm reaction to Jamie’s performance, specially Amanda Holden who buzzed midway through the performance . Piers Morgan said that he had loved his first audition but “his voice wasn’t as good tonight”. Amanda Holden, said that she didn’t feel comfortable watching him and Simon Cowell told Jamie that the last part of the performance was very good but as an overall it wasn’t good enough.

Jamie Pugh’s music Dream is Over…For now

She announced in the press that she was very disappointed by Jamie Pugh and she didn’t give Jamie any chance during last night’s performance. Amanda Holden pressed the buzzer midway through Jamie Pugh’s performance of The Impossible Dream from The Man of La Mancha.

It’s true that Jamie was struggling to find the self confidence to perform Live on national TV, specially since after Susan Boyle the attention on him was the greatest in the contest, and just as Susan Boyle struggled to start up with her song.

But the second part of the song was great, even Simon acknowledged that the ending was great, but Jamie’s stage fright was holding him back and he may never be able to overcome it:

“I didn’t think it was good enough. You may have to come to terms with the fact that your nerves are always going to hold you back.

“You may have to come to terms with the fact that this is not for you.”

One thing was true, he was very nervous and it showed, it showed a tad too much which makes people uncomfortable, nobody likes seeing someone suffering on stage.

Perhaps there was some part of true in what Amanda Holden said:

“You have got a good voice but I didn’t feel comfortable watching you.

“You are there to entertain me and I was very uncomfortable and nervous for you.

“As a member of the audience and judge I have to be able to relax and enjoy it but I couldn’t.”

Jamie is very talented and he made a mistake not saying that he had performed in front of a large audience before, something that seemed so futile, cost him his place in the finals and the public as the judges can be very little understanding when they feel betrayed in any way.

Jamie Pugh said he was going to continue working on his singing abilities, on his stage fright.

Piers Morgan was a bit more gentle and he told Jamie Pugh who looked appalled at the judges slamming of his performance:

“You’ve got a whole lot of guts to get up there and do that.”

Jamie promised judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan that he was not going to give in and he was going to continue fighting for his dream until it comes true.

Amanda Holden Disses Jamie Pugh

In a hit of what was going to happen later in the week, Amanda Holden criticized very harshly Britain’s Got Talent contestant Jamie Pugh, she says she didn’t think he was genuine and she seems quite pissed off that he was not sincere about not performing in front of a large audience ever before.

Amanda thinks that Jamie Pugh “Faked” his emotions during his first performance in Britain’s Got Talent and that led the judges to overlook flaws in his performance and pass him through to the semi-finals.

Amanda goes on to say:

“He got on my t*ts.I didn’t think he was genuine.

“I didn’t believe his emotion and I hated his voice. He sounded like a car starting.

“We all said, ‘Yes’ to him on the day so I feel terrible for saying it, but my heart’s not in that performance.

“He’s just a very weak Paul Potts. I didn’t like it.”

And then she says that she wished the hadn’t selected him to go to the semi-finals.

As we saw in yesterday’s Britain’s Got Talent, Amanda was very skeptical and adopted a very unreceptive posture while Jamie was performing.

Jamie Pugh’s Lie Could Cost Him the Boot

When Jamie Pugh was intervieed by Britain’s Got Talent Hosts Ant & Dec, he said that he sufferend from serious stage fright and that it was very crippling for him and it had prevented him from trying to go professional before. Afterwards he was questioned by the judges about whether he had been on front of an audience like the one in the theater at the moment and he said no.

But soon came out that he had actually been in front of a large audience at Her Majesty’s Theater in 2006 for Star EFX Sunday Night Live, a showcase for new talent.

It is true that he was part of a group and that the performance was less than memorable, but to many he should have mentioned that during his audition in Britain’s Got Talent, and that could cost Jamie any possibilities of winning the contest or even going to the finals after his performance in the semi finals.

Bookies are offering odds 7/1 on Jamie getting the Boot, a representative from William Hill’s said:

“A large part of Jamie’s charm was based on his `chronic’ stage fright.

“Once you take that away he is fairly ordinary and you can see Simon Cowell taking a dim view.”

And though I don’t believe Jamie lied when he was interviewed his carelessness of failing to mention that particular previous experience could cost him a great deal. He needs to surprise both judges and audience with his second performance ion order to regain the credibility that he is loosing by this news.

Another Les Miserables Song in BGT by Jamie Pugh

A terrified Jamie Pugh sings in front of a large audience, a chilling performance by and overwhelmed man, so scared of failing to be liked the audience that he could barely control his tears, yet it was perhaps that terror which brought the emotion and feeling the song deserves.
